22 things being 22 taught me

22 things i learned as a 22-year-old that will help me make 23 a year for me:

  1. i do indeed love coffee, and 9 a.m. college classes would’ve been a lot easier if i figured that out sooner. ☕️

  2. growing up and moving on doesn’t always mean letting go. sometimes, it means putting in extra effort to make sure your love still shows no matter how you change or where you go, but you really don’t have to be sorry for leaving and growing up. thanks @harrystyles.📍

  3. on that note, money is fake, harry styles is forever.🕺

  4. my words can heal and my words can hurt, even unintentionally, so remember to always choose them wisely and think before you speak.✍🏼

  5. hard work really does pay off in the end, no matter how hard the work may become. the harder it becomes, the closer you are to what you’re working toward.🗞️

  6. some people are moments, other people are forever, and those that are will show you without having to try.👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏻

  7. forgiving doesn’t always have to mean forgetting, and sometimes it’s important to make sure you remember instead. don’t let the same thing hurt you twice.❤️‍🩹

  8. sometimes, you’re the toxic friend, and admitting that to yourself is the first step in fixing it. 🚩

  9. dogs can be a girl’s best friend, too, and i knew the second i saw romeo he would be mine.🐾

  10. there’s a difference between being selfish and standing up for yourself, and that difference lies in how much respect you have for both yourself and others.🧸

  11. having pen pals is fun and cool.💌

  12. you aren’t always going to be recognized for all that you do, and not everyone is going to say thank you, but you should be a kind human anyways.🌟

  13. there is no possible way you can say “yes” to everything and everyone and do it all without disappointing someone, so learn how to say “no,” and know it’s an okay word to use. 🗓️

  14. everyone is on a different timeline. life isn’t supposed to be a race, and celebrating the small victories comes one mile at a time. the pace you’re going is what’s right for you.⏳

  15. if you spend too much time worrying about what’s next, you’ll miss out on what’s now.🛼

  16. i actually really love running despite how terrible i am at it, but the way it makes me feel is worth the humiliation of running in public.🏃🏻‍♀️

  17. i can finally curl my own hair. this one is a bigger deal than it seems.💇🏻‍♀️

  18. there is so much more world out there than i thought, and i’m so thankful for the opportunities i’ve had that have taken me to places i never would have been able to go on my own. traveling is pure magic.✈️

  19. i’ve seen harry potter now. you guys were right, it is cool. i still have quite a few movies to check off the list though.🧙🏼‍♀️

  20. just because mental health isn’t always seen doesn’t mean it isn’t real, and if you convince yourself that what you’re going through isn’t there, it will find a way to show itself physically, too. take care of you in every way, and don’t let anyone invalidate your experience.🧠

  21. maybe what you thought you’ve always wanted isn’t actually what you want, but being afraid of what you don’t know will only prevent you from finding yourself.🌻

  22. the most important friendship to have is one with yourself. knowing your own worth and the love you deserve is key to your happiness. time alone is time well spent, and learning to love you is the greatest lesson of all. 🦋

to more growing,

tay
